It's amazing but when you have to be out in weather like that instead of in & out of A/C, you do really get used to it more quickly. But you can have all the heat back now :)Kathyhttp://www.thefrenchchick.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6268877237940592285.post-87630247402267942972011-07-23T21:10:03.857-05:002011-07-23T21:10:03.857-05:00Heat is an understatement. We're used to heat here in the Midwest, but 114 degrees for a WHOLE week?

Guess what broke in our house and can't be fixed until Tuesday?

Three guesses and the first two don't count. Yep. AC.

Oh, funny how the things to offer up are often forced upon you! :)Marynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6268877237940592285.post-43402172546083594722011-07-23T08:11:52.169-05:002011-07-23T08:11:52.169-05:00Awww, thank you. Unfortunately, this was the week my 12 year old son went to soccer camp. He took 4 showers the first day! No AC in the dorms only fans. The staff was good and alert to the dangers. He was a trooper and enjoyed it anyway. I keep thinking, how do southerners deal with this all the time?Lisa Sweethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08022737108038630993noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6268877237940592285.post-46187183988935852612011-07-22T22:06:31.805-05:002011-07-22T22:06:31.805-05:00My area has the highest heat index on your map! We live in a "high desert" area here in western Colorado so we are normally very dry, though we are surrounded by mountains.
I can take the heat (it's not that uncommon for us in the summertime), but it is the humidity that drives me crazy. I know I could never live in the south or New England for this reason.Kellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18076870583313429655noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6268877237940592285.post-3535280748648805412011-07-22T12:46:00.413-05:002011-07-22T12:46:00.413-05:00So long as I have AC going I can handle the heat. ...So long as I have AC going I can handle the heat. I've actually been going outside to warm up, but after a few minutes it's time to go back inside. I don't think it's the heat that's so bad, but rather the humidity. The air is so thick up here that you feel like you could cut it. I hung some damp clothes outside to dry yesterday and they were wetter when I brought them in than when I initially brought them out.

I'm thrilled that our pool water is a nice refreshing 90. So long as my plants don't die, and the AC keeps working it can stay up here in NJ for a little longer. I'll take this over snow any day.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08353696433987975754noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6268877237940592285.post-41965851148210813862011-07-22T12:43:17.299-05:002011-07-22T12:43:17.299-05:00That's so crazy!
