First Light

Everyone is picking up the pieces today...
My God, we thank you for protecting us through the night. We praise you and give you thanks for all the blessings you have bestowed on us. In union with Jesus, we consecrate to you all our thoughts, words, actions, joys, and sufferings of this day. Mary our mother, bless us this day and protect us from dangers. Guardian Angels and all our patrons, pray for us. Amen

  3. Matilda! How frightening! What a contrast to those photos of such great beauty...truly thorns amongst the roses.

Thank heavens it wasn't any worse!

  5. We lost a whole tree and several branches also - glad to see you're well there. We said a prayer for you when we were up with our kiddoes at 3:50am, knowing that you were as worried as I was!

  6. I thought about all of my friends there in Irving when I heard the weatherman say it was heading your way. I am glad you were safe. Did your kids fall asleep on the closet floor like mine did? I am expecting a pretty grumpy day!

  7. Wow! I saw the storm on the radar and saw colors I had not seen before. It really was a doozy of a storm. We had just wind and rain.

I'm so glad to hear you all are okay if a bit tired.

  8. Goodness gracious. We had a lot of rain but nothing like that. Didn't you guys have to remove a tree because of weather damage last fall?

  10. Oh my goodness! Until I saw your post, I didn't even know that there had been a bad storm... How scary for all of you! I am so thankful that you and your family are all ok!!

  11. what cracks me up are the friends who didn't hear a thing, woke up this morning to chaos in their lovely backyard and said "What the heck happened last night?" It was sooooo loud! 4 of our 7 remained asleep through the whole thing, though, so I guess it is possible to sleep through a moving train!

  12. All we get out of your storms up in DFW land is a very very hot and muggy day down here. Everyone kept saying, "It's hot down here because of the storms up there." I'm glad everyone is okay. Love the picture of the bird rebuilding. Elizabeth

  13. Oh my goodness, I thought of you this morning when I heard the news, but did not realize you were so close.

We lose Bradford Pears every time there is a big storm, too. Our city is actually tearing the poor things out because they make such a mess on every street!

I'm glad you're all fine. You had an exciting week didn't you ::smirk::?
