The girls came to us very contrite this afternoon. Apparently, the brackets that attach the ladder to the bunkbed broke... with some assistance, of course. My dainty delicate flowers were giving each other rides on the only means of scaling their sizeable bunk; the ladder that descended down from the middle of the bed. One was sitting on the middle rung while the other one lifted her sister up and down by the bottom rung until snap!
There were tears of remorse and dramatic pleadings... but, no broken bones, so Mom and Dad played it pretty cool. Husband said, "Girls, you better start working on your climbing skills or someone is sleeping on the floor."
Sunshine sniffled, "That's okay. We already know how to climb up from both ends."
Good to know.
