Celebrating life today...

His birthday dessert… a Pecan Pie Cake. I drew a LOTR symbol on top in melted chocolate (really it was just to get the candles to stand up). He tells me it's Galadriel's symbol. Google just said it was a LOTR symbol. I'd trust him over Google.
Today is a day of prayer and penance for "the full restoration of the legal guarantee of the right to life" and "for violations to the dignity of the human person committed through acts of abortion".  But the GIRM also says that the liturgical celebrations for today may be the "Mass For Giving Thanks to God for the Gift of Human Life" and so we have no qualms today celebrating the beautiful life God blessed us with sixteen years ago on this 22nd day of January.
This sweet young man who doesn't mind snuggling his baby sister, who is so much like him it delights and scares us a little sometimes.
This kind young man who enjoys the cards his devoted siblings make for him.
This selfless young man who allows the littlest one (who is quite present obsessed) to assist him when opening a present.
It's so hard when the presents aren't for you!!! But she's trying to smile anyway.
 He really enjoys those cards!
And this (tries to be) patient young man who's siblings love him so much that they promised to play a 4 hour strategy based board game with him(Affiliate link.)
...even though no one is completely sure of just how to play.
(As long as they can knit too! :)

Happy Birthday, Professor!
We all love you so much.

  5. Happy Birthday, Professor!
Such great pictures, Charlotte! I love the first one of him and Cupcake, and then the super cute one of her smiling made me laugh out loud. I also love the game shots, especially with the knitting - mine just played Axis and Allies last night and Lydia sat there sketching the others as she played. Pictures of siblings enjoying each other like that are the best.

    1. Kimberlee,
He received a copy of Axis and Allies from my mom as a gift for this birthday. I'm sure there are more good time games nights to come. :)

    1. Why yes it is! Well, she still has to sew on buttons and block it.
