Books for Days and Library Nights

I started to make a side bar list of the books that the children have selected from the library but then I realized that any changes made would be lost. I want to make a more permanent record that I can pull up again if I need to (read: when I can't remember which books they have read and which ones they have not).

Thimble Summer by Elizabeth Enright
Caddie Woodlawn by Carol Ryrie Brink
The Wright Brothers: how they invented the airplane by Russell Freedman
Laura Ingalls Wilder Country by William Anderson
Kildee House by Rutherford Montgomery (illustrated by Barbara Cooney) ~interesting story, great book for animal lovers
Roxaboxen by Alice McLerran (illustrated by Barbara Cooney) ~has already inspired their own imaginary little town
The Year of the Perfect Christmas Tree by Gloria Houston (Illustrated by Barbara Cooney)
Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney ~Lupines = Bluebonnets
Eleanor by Barbara Cooney ~we are on a Barbara Cooney kick thanks to Dawn!
The True-or-False Book of Horses by Patricia Lauber ~for Shortcake
Sprint Cars by Peter and Nilda Sessler
Murder in the Middle Pasture by John R. Erickson
Bad Day for Ballet by Carolyn Keene
The Case of the Measled Cowboy by John R. Erickson
The Case of the Missing Bird Dog by John R. Erickson
Garfield: Out to Lunch by Jim Davis
Man o' War by Walter Farley
By the Great Horn Spoon by Sid Fleischman ~again!
George Washington by Tara Baukus Mello
See the Farm by Mary Elizabeth Salzmann
Cowboy Up! by Larry Dane Brimner
One fish, Two Fish by Dr. Seuss
Young Cam Jansen and the Zoo Note Mystery by David A. Adler

  1. Hi, I saw your post on 4Real asking for pictures of kitchen madonnas. I haven't been able to get my 4real membership activated--some computer quirk--but here is the link to mine.

She's not usually dressed up like this though. :) Right now I have her in the middle of some poppies picked from our garden and a new doily under the base of the statue.

I'm hoping to find a nice copy of "The Kitchen Madonna" some day. My eldest daughter loves the younger Rumer Godden books. I'd like to start reading her more mature books myself.

I discovered the other day when I went online to reserve books that my library card gave me a record of any books we have previously borrowed. I'm assuming that you have barcoded cards? Worth checking out;)
