Nature Pics

From our trip to the ponds~
(There was no time to identify anything except the mourning dove so please help if you can.)

Have a great weekend!

  1. I believe that pretty bug on the woodpile is a Damselfly -- we just read about them and saw a huge replica at our local park. They're really neat. Great pics, M.

  2. Thank you! My son was saying that he thought it might be a damselfly but wasn't sure what the difference was between a damselfly and a dragonfly.

  3. The first duck is either a Mottled or a female Mallard. I thought Mottled but now am leaning towards female Mallard. The two are similar. The second duck is definitely a Muscovy. I think the other ducks are variations of Muscovy or hybrid Muscovies.

  4. The first is definitely female mallard... looks like the ones we have.
And you have a blue dasher dragonfly on the florwers:

  5. Wow, Matilda, gorgeous photos! Thanks for sharing.

  6. Great pics... looks like you got to see a lot of nature on your field trip :-).

    See you soon!

  7. Lovely pictures, I'd love to know what the incredible purple berries are???
