It's fun for a girl and a boy!

St. Nicholas snuck some Slinkies into their slippers this morning along with the usual gold coins. We postponed school for an hour or so while I watched them relive one of my favorite childhood memories. (I had to make my own stairs, too!)

We have another treat waiting for us this evening... thanks to Jamie!
I cut my cake a little differently and used white chocolate shavings instead of coconut for the beard. I also decided to use up some of the leftover M&M's we had from Shortcake's birthday.
Happy St. Nicholas Day!!!

  2. I love it!! One of my boys can't stand coconut (which I just don't understand??) so I will have to let him decorate his cupcake this afternoon with white chocolate!! GREAT IDEA!!! :-)

    Happy Feast of St. Nicholas!

  3. I used a veggie peeler to shave my white chocolate. None of my kids like coconut. I can understand. I'm not crazy about the texture, but I love the flavor!

  5. This time of year you can buy a bag of just red and green M&M's. I had one leftover from the cookies we made this weekend for our family cookie party. I added some from the other leftovers I had.

  6. I love the white chocolate idea!! I always pass over recipes with coconut because my kids really don't care for it- but it seems like that one ingredient is always popping up as a necessary accent. Thank you for sharing. :) Your cake turned out spectacular.
