The American Library Association has just announced at its Midwinter Meeting in San Diego that Tomie is the 2011 Laura Ingalls Wilder Award winner.
The award honors an author or illustrator whose books, published in the United States, have made, over a period of years, a substantial and lasting contribution to literature for children.
I know that our family has been very blessed by Mr. dePaola's substantial and lasting contributions of literature we have in our home library! Thank you, Tomie!
YEAH!!! He's made a wonderful contribution here too :) And I know Jessica loves his books.
ReplyDeleteMy mother read some of his books to me as a child, and my children love them, so I think this he definitely deserves it!
