R.I.P. Romulus Linney

I really don't expect anyone here in Mommy Bloggerland to recognize the name Romulus Linney. It's a name that isn't well known in most circles outside of the theater and even in those circles, it's usually coupled with words like "unsung" and "overlooked". Truthfully, most people are more familiar with his daughter, Laura Linney.  (Please Can I Keep It is a huge hit with my kiddos!)

Mr. Linney was the focus of my junior thesis and his play, Three Poets, was my senior studio when I was in college. He even helped with my thesis by providing me with research regarding his career along with a lovely note of encouragement. All of this is to say that Mr. Linney passed away yesterday and I just wanted to offer a prayer for the repose of his soul and for the comfort of the family he leaves behind.

De Profundis

Out of the depths I cry to You, O Lord; Lord, hear my voice.
