{pretty}
Anniversary daisies. I love daisies. My bridesmaids carried daisies. I wish I had carried daisies!
{happy}
"Hopefully there will also be cake!" comments Miniscule Maggie from MN. Of course!
{funny}
I wasn't kidding when I said my girls have their room equally divided between pink and purple... even down to the curtains!
{real}
Real busy giving our bedroom doors a fresh coat of paint. Hadn't planned on it but when you discover that the new door handles have smaller base plates than the previous 1980's version, you kind of have to paint the difference. And since you're painting part of the door...might as well paint the whole darn thing! I'm sure there's a story in there somewhere that starts "When you give a pregnant mom a paintbrush...."

  1. When you give a pregnant mom a paintbrush...she's likely to paint the whole house! :) I nested with the first 3 like crazy, and I'm expecting the same with this one (10 1/2 weeks) :)

  2. Minuscule Maggie just got back from the Mall of America, where she contemplated a pair of 4-inch heels to go with her new black dress for the conference.

    Couldn't do it, as cute they were. They just WEREN'T me.

    I did find a cute new cardigan, though. ;)

  5. I love the pink and purple curtains! So cute!!

    I wish I had your motivation and energy, when it comes to painting. There is so much that needs to be done around here. . . Maybe in a couple months.

    The flowers and cake are so pretty!

  7. "when you give a pregnant mom a paintbrush..." Honestly, right now I'm kind of wishing for some of that nesting energy to tear through some of the projects that were interrupted when Anthony was born. I miss having that drive.

    That cake looks fabulous. I'm in awe of your cake prowess. I'm always doing good just to bake a cake and get frosting on it. Luckily, my kids are satisfied with round.

  8. OK, the "secret" behind the cake is that when I made the owl cupcakes for the Good Shepherd Garden Party, I only had one cupcake pan so the other half of the batter went into my heart shaped pan. I kept the cake in the fridge thinking I would use it somehow for our anniversary. When the day rolled around, I found the leftover filling and ganache from BigBoy's birthday cake so I sliced the cake thinly, layered the filling in the middle and melted the ganache just enough to make it spreadable. The swirls were made with a butter knife and wrist action.
