Simple Celebrations: Santa Lucia Day

We celebrated early this morning with a ring of cinnamon rolls (from a can) because an hour after this picture was taken, this table was in the den along with the fridge, oven, dishwasher, clothes washer and dryer! Why? Because our flooring finally arrived and was installed today!!! Pictures later.
Not wearing the hat even if it's a pretty wreath of candles. No hat, Mommy!

  1. Cupcake is adorable with or without the crown! So happy that your flooring was finally installed!

Oh, and my little name-day girl was super excited about her Santa Lucia statue like yours!! I'm so glad I was able to find one. It is beautiful!

  2. It's the eldest daughter, silly bean, who's supposed to wear the wreath. But that little cupcake is a cutie (and a stinker -- no hats? Really?)

    Happy new floor!

    1. We've always let both girls wear crowns and dress up since they are so close in age. This year, being more teenagerish, they opted to wear the crowns but not dress up. Anyone seen a Santa Lucia dress in a Women's Small?

Cupcake will only tolerate her hooded owl as a hat for about 3 minutes when she is drying off from her bath. Other than that, she thinks hats are a game. Mommy puts it on. Baby rips it off and smiles saying, "Hat!"

    1. I hunted for this statue on ebay several years ago. It's a discontinued statue made by Dept. 56. A friend had one that was a gift from her grandmother and I fell in love with it so I hunted until I found one.

  5. What a sweet celebration! We, too, went the "canned" route for our sweet breads... though I don't have as good of a reason as you do :).
