{p,h,f,r} April is almost over?

{pretty}
This pretty girl with the greenish brown eyes and the little chubby face is keeping us all on our toes. Why, oh why, won't her hair grow? She keeps being mistaken for a little boy. I'm desperate enough to consider a pigtail hat like this one or maybe braids instead. But hats like that are no good when it's 90 degrees outside. Hot pink baseball cap it is, I guess.

{happy}
My kids were very happy to see the cedar waxwings take a break in one of our tallest trees as they migrated back home. They like to call them Ninja Birds because of their black mask. I was happy to see that they remembered what they were at all. I guess homeschooling nature study really does work.

{funny}
Cupcake calls this the "Two-Five-Six" because every time she used to stand on our old model,  it would say 25.6. That is, up until the day she stood on it sans diaper, waiting for her bath to warm up, and she tinkled on it. It never said two five six again. This new one is ever so much nicer than the old one (and more waterproof, we hope). But apparently, we need to change it's name to Two-Six-Zero! I refuse to tell you what I call it, but I am happy to report that it's 20 pounds less than what I used to call the old one!

{real}
This little one ended up with a bright green mustache and goatee just after this shot was taken, but she sure liked her cupcake. It was one of the only bright spots she's had recently. The antibiotics treating her ear infections are making her tummy and her bum miserable. Not fun!

    Check out acidophillus for gut problems due to antibiotics.

  2. Yay on the weight loss for you, and the weight gain for Cupcake!! She weighs what my 3 year old does!! Actually Simeon is 24 lbs, almost as his sister who is 2 years older! (petite and chubs)

    Have a great weekend!

    1. Jamie, my babies seem to race up to about 25 pounds and then stay there for a couple of years.

  3. I love the cupcake picture of Cupcake. She looks like she's enjoying it, that's for sure. My oldest was always mistaken for a boy because she didn't get ANY hair until she was 18 months old or so. Bald, bald, bald. I dressed her in pink and people still said my little boy was cute! Oh well. She's 33 now and has the thickest hair I've ever seen.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  5. Oh poor baby! Poor mama! I just hate ear infections. Sneaky little buggers! This is her first. My kids don't seem to be very prone to them (knock on wood) but I think they've all had one or two.

  6. Yay about the 20 pounds. I'm so sorry about the ear infection. They are just terrible! My daughter's hair took the longest time to grow as well. She was 3 before we could even do barrettes. Plus, she adored wearing her brother's hand-me-downs. But, now she has the prettiest curly hair- it was worth the wait! :-)

  7. Cupcake looks so petite. I can't believe she's 26lbs. My little one is just barely 20lbs now after her bout w/pneumonia that left her 2 1/2lbs lighter. We're in the same boat as you in the lacking hair department.

    1. She's short but she's solid! I should note that was 26 pounds fully clothed with shoes on! :)
