Gifts

I am blessed with creative and thoughtful people in my life.
Being with them is the best gift of all.
A new camera!{affiliate link} While my husband claims it was a birthday gift for me, I feel better thinking of it as a family gift. Our other one was a point and shoot that was about 7 years old and just couldn't keep up with an active toddler. So many blurry pictures make for a grumpy Mommy. I took this picture with my new camera as Shortcake was "flying" around me in a circle like Supergirl. It's going to take me a while to figure out how to really use it, but I already like what I see.
Sunshine knitted me some beautiful socks using bits and pieces of yarn from her stash. I love them! They are so colorful and comfy. She amazes me! All of the children made some cards and I always look forward to those. They are funny and sentimental and usually make me cry. Kind of personal, though, so no pictures.
Awhile back, I made Sean watch some Doctor Who episodes and now he's hooked and we can share jokes and references! He bought me this Doctor Who version of Yahtzee {affiliate link}. It's kind of geeky but fun for the whole family! What's not to love? Plus... the TARDIS, while too big and noisy to be an effective "dice cup", is perfect for keeping Dove Dark Chocolates in. I'm sure that's what they meant it for anyway!
A sweet friend surprised me with this gift. Now, I guess, we have no good reason not to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel which happens to be a major feast day for the Carmelite saint that her goddaughter is named after. Hmmmm... good friend or a really good Godmother? Both, I think!

  1. You got a Tardis AND a statue of Our Lady of Mount Carmel???!!! My birthday is a few days and pretty sure no one in my life is capable of topping that combination! (Btw, I have a two and a half year old daughter - and one due to be born in a few weeks -and whenever I hear about the things your big girls do for and with you it gets me really excited for the years to come!!!)
