Things you don't hear every day...

Dad: Food is getting low, let's go hunt.

Shortcake: Leave the Buffalo to me!

BigBoy: (Singing and dancing) Buff-uh-woah, buff-uh-woah, buff-uh-woah...

Sunshine and Shortcake: (in unison) OH NOOOOOOO, what happened?

Dad: Mary has typhoid fever.

  1. Hi! I found your blog from Nutmeg. I too have 4 children, but don't feel called to homeschool, at least at this time. Of course, none of my kids are in school yet, so that may change. I also live in TX.
    Nice blog!

  2. Dear 4andcounting,
Thanks for dropping by and saying hello. I never thought I would homeschool in a million years and I would agree that it is not for everyone, but after being a teacher in a public school and marrying a man whose family is a ready-made homeschooling support group, I couldn't imagine doing anything else.

  3. I just read the ages of your kids and see more similarities! Mine are not that old yet, but my first 3 are piggy-backed in age like yours. 5, 4, 3 and the baby is 16 months. So glad to know there are others out there with kids close in age. And that you are still sane after the pre-K years! Gives me hope!

  4. Yep, the oldest three are my ducks in a row. A miscarriage and a move that required us to be on opposite sides of the state for a while account for some of the spacing between 3 and 4, but I was also in need of some catch-up time. Some women are able to handle 4 in diapers and I tip my hat to them!

Hang in there! It is amazing how good you feel when they can do some things for themselves. Simple things even like buckling themselves in the car and washing their own hair. Truly wonderful!
