Catching up

We are finished with the kitchen portion of our endeavor for now. The holes are patched and hidden under a new layer of texture and paint. Husband also used this opportunity to install new light fixtures. We had a hideous florescent light up there where the rail lights are now and it was so temperamental we almost never used it.
This is my favorite part. I love art glass. This pendant light fits perfectly just above my sink and offers a lovely bit of beauty to look at during the day and a gorgeous glow at night.
So that is all for right now. We have a little more work to be done in the den and the girls' room but I expect that to go smoother than the kitchen. And speaking of expecting...
and Suzanne
Let's rejoice in their happiness!!!

For all of us longing to join these ladies on a similar journey in God's time, I offer this flower and this prayer:

Almighty and Eternal God,

Give me, I beseech You,
the great gift of inward peace.
Command the winds and storms
of my unruly passions.
Subdue, by Your grace,
my proneness to love
created things too much.
Give me a love of suffering for Your sake.
make me forbearing and kind to others,
that I may avoid quarrels and contentions.
And teach me constantly to seek after
and to acquire that perfect resignation
to Your Holy Will
which alone brings interior peace.
Amen.

  3. Maybe if we all keep giving Suzanne pink flowers, god will get the hint and give her a pink baby, too:-)! Thanks for your prayers and good wishes.

  5. Oh Elizabeth! I didn't even plan that but what a great idea!!!
The white rose is a JPII rose and I picked it for you because I don't think I will ever forget your beautiful post about him. The other rose is an Our Lady of Guadalupe Rose and they are very pink but we also know how much St. Juan Diego played a part in that story so... I guess we will just have to wait for Suzanne's little one to reveal their pinkness or blueness in time.:)

You could also use a pink baby to help even out the testosterone levels over at your house! What is your team rooting for?

  13. Emily,
The white rose is a John Paul II rose and the pink one is an Our Lady of Guadalupe rose. They are the only plants in the "garden" that we have planted ourselves. We are not very green thumbed, but those two caught my eye last year and I decided to give it a try!
