Stroller Bleg

After spending some time with Patty's girls on Saturday, and checking out Clementine's spiffy ride, I think I'd like a lighter weight stroller for Cupcake, something a little easier to get in and out of the car. I'm thinking a step up from an umbrella stroller. You know... beefier wheels but still reclines. And it has to have a decent sun canopy. Nobody likes a burned Cupcake!

Suggestions? Links? Thanks!

  1. It's pricey, but I highly recommend the City Mini jogger. It's not really a jogger, just shaped like one. We rented one at Disney World earlier this year, and so wished we'd just bought one. It's so easy to steer and fold, and the canopy is HUGE. It would also be super easy to sell on Craigslist after you are done. Or, check Craigslist for a used one!

  3. I have the Britax B-Agile and I love it! I got it as a review product before Katie was born and I couldn't wait for her to outgrow her infant carrier car seat so I could use it as my primary stroller. The canopy is very generous (great for a fair baby like my Katie) and it handles like a dream. I'm one of those sad moms that runs the stroller into just about everything, but with this one it's very rare that poor Katie is being bumped into everything and anything. Best of all, the stroller is just 16 lbs. The only caveat is the stroller is a bit pricey, but it's very well made and it handles like a dream. It is currently $189.99 on Amazon.

  4. If you don't mind doing stroller add-ons like one of those canopy extenders, you might also want to check out some of the lightweight Chicco strollers. We have one that I used as my primary stroller for my middle daughter. It is essentially a souped up umbrella stroller. The seat is cushioned and reclines, and it's around 15-16lbs. The canopy on ours is ok, but it's not something I would want to use if I were going to be sitting out on a soccer field on a sunny day. It handles well but not great on grass or uneven surfaces. It really depends on where you'll be using it most of the time. I'll stop with my stroller suggestions before I wind up giving you enough suggestions to make my stroller addiction from the past glaringly obvious.

  5. Check Craigslist and other online classified options. I found a nice Maclaren Quest just over two years ago, and it is holding up very well. I think I paid about $75 but it was in great condition. For awhile I used it almost daily. It doesn't recline all the way, and the canopy isn't huge, but it's a nice lightweight that is easy to use.

  6. I used this one with my youngest: http://www.combiusa.com/Products/Item.aspx?Item=8

It reclined which is very important. It maneuvered well. Is very lightweight. Easy to fold and stows away very nicely.

  8. Look at Babies R Us so to put your hands on something tangible and then shop for something similar online in order to get the best deal and that free shipping. Had such an enjoyable visit again! Need to do it sooner next time :)

    1. You know, Patty, I was just thinking the same thing. I started reading reviews of all the different ones that have been suggested and wow! People sure have their preferences when it comes to strollers. I think I need to test drive a few and see what I like.

  9. Britax /B-Agile. Love it. Nice big canopy, beefy wheels, fold up easily, maneuvers wonderfully. Its pricey. Toys R Us normally has an old car seat trade in that gives you 25% off. Any carseat, booster seat will do. Good luck!
