{p,h,f,r} St. Valentine's edition

{pretty}
My beautiful girls decorated the table last night creating this centerpiece with some garland and electric candles.

{happy}

Happy to be fever free today. Happy to be able to breathe through my nose occasionally. But mostly, I am so happy that I had planned ahead and had everything waiting in my closet. It wasn't a big celebration. One of our local stores had some fun hats on clearance. I found these chocolate mustache's for the boys and chocolate roses for the girls. (No, they did not give up chocolate for Lent and while we do limit treats, we allow them on special feast days.)

Does this picture really need a caption?

Pinterest lies. I saw somewhere, Pinterest, I think, that you could make heart shaped muffins using a marble. They look kind of heart blobbish to me. Oh well. They were eaten with gusto. That's what counts.

  1. I love the mustaches! So cute. I bet your heart blobs tasted wonderful...I was wondering if that worked. They're heartish so I call it a win :)

  2. As soon as my daughter saw the muffins, she said "oh they made heart muffins!" so I guess beauty and heart-shapedness is in the eye of the beholder!

  3. I laughed out loud at your Pinterest lies comment - I need that on a T-shirt!
    Your Valentines look grand, so cute. The muffins look delicious even if they are heart blobbish!

  4. Ha! I tried to make hearts with canned cinnamon rolls, something I saw on Pintrest (and come to think of it, maybe Catholic Cuisine, so I won't call it a Pintrest lie! ) but I could see that I didn't like how it was going to take away the gooey, so we settled for pink frosting.
    Did you come back to Pintrest?

  5. I tried those marble cupcake/muffins years ago and got the same results! One of the girls was watching while I was Pinteresting and they said, "Oh, look at those heart muffins--let's make those" To which I replied, "They don't work as good as they show here"

    Glad I'm not the only one!

  6. I don't know how I missed seeing this post - maybe because we weren't home most of St. Valentine's Day - but I love the pictures! Especially the one of BigBoy! :)
